How to contact the service and what happens next

Please read the information on what this service offers.

The service is not for mental health emergencies or crises.

You can request support from this service yourself. You do not need to go through your GP or another healthcare professional or service. This is called self-referral.

You can also refer someone else, such as your child, with his/her/their consent.

People involved in your care and support can also refer you with your consent, for example, your GP, healthcare provider or voluntary sector support worker.

What to expect

Once you have contacted the service, a clinician will contact you within 14 days, if not sooner.

  • They will talk to you to find out more about the support you need.
  • If you and your clinician both think psychological support can help you, an appointment will be made for you for an initial conversation. This appointment may be in person or online. This should be within 4 weeks.
  • They may also tell you about other services that can help you on matters such as your physical health, finances, debt management, housing and benefits, as well as the Infected Blood Compensation Scheme – and how to contact them.
